Greene County High School will be represented by five groups at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s state large group contest Feb. 6 in Des Moines.
The groups qualified by receiving a “I” rating at the district contest at Ballard High School Jan. 23. Seven Greene County groups performed.
Advancing to the state contest are:
- One act play, “Night of the Livid Dad,” Arthur Bardole, Naomi Long, Jordan Davis, Michael Kennedy, Kara Betts;
- Ensemble acting, “Our Depression Speech,” Michael Kennedy, Kara Betts;
- Readers’ theatre, “Flight 212 to LA,” Samantha Hardaway, Brittany Harmeyer, Haley Hall, Regan Lamoureaux, Naomi Mumuni, Lindsey Paulsen;
- Musical theatre, “Candide,” Danielle Johnson, Aly Mathews, David Petersen; and
- Choral reading, “Casey at the Bat (the Road Version/Joy in Mudville,” Kenna Marquardt, Hannah McConnell, Hannah Promes, Hannah Stein, Caiti Schaben, Taylor Harmeyer, Olivia Hansen, Maddie Schroeder, Emily Heupel, Laurin Lyons.
